Welcome to Minimally Montessori!
I’m a first time mom to my daughter, H, who was born December 2019. I grew up in Florida, and moved to the SF Bay Area in 2017 where my husband had family and work. We’re thrilled to be raising a kiddo in such a beautiful area!
I hadn’t heard about the Montessori method until the middle of 2020. Up until then, the only thing I knew about it was that it was “that alternative school thing”. As I did more research about the home environment after H came along, I quickly realized that I loved the concepts behind Montessori teaching. As a product of a homeschool education, there were elements I valued–letting a child lead their education. I found that in Montessori.
While we won’t be doing full-time Montessori (hence my blog name), I’m drawn to the idea of making the home a natural learning environment, and giving H the chance to gain independence. I’m constantly learning how to best offer H learning situations, and can’t wait to share her adventures as she grows.
